The DVR-016S4C is the highest specification standalone 4CIF (D1) DVR available. It rivals over its competition with quadruple the recording resolution at full 4CIF D1 30FPS. An incorporated DVD-RW for larger backup files, SATA hard drives, and spot monitor output. The DVR-016S4C is an enterprise class digital video recorder utilizing H.264 hardware compression DSPs from Texas Instruments and a high performance embedded real-time multi-tasking operating system (RTOS) with an embedded CPU, to perfectly implement all the functions needed to build a powerful yet reliable surveillance system. It will push real-time video and audio recording at a full 4CIF resolution on every channel.

The versatility of this unit is extensive. Each camera input can be independently configured with variable bit rates, frame rates, record modes, compression, and more. Each channel also supports audio recording Remote viewing, playback, configuration, upgrade, reboot, and backup are all standard. The embedded web server enables users to perform all these remote function via an Internet Explorer web browser, eliminating the need to install software. Client software is also included for central monitoring and alerts. Dual streaming configurations are also a standard feature allowing high resolution recording on the unit locally, while lower bit rates and resolution can be used for remote viewing on mobile devices such a BlackBerry smart phones, conserving network bandwidth, increasing remote viewing quality and performance. Two-way voice talk and audio over the Internet is also standard giving users in a remote location the ability to notify intruders or vandals that they are under video surveillance and that the police are on the way.

Up to 16 terabytes of storage can be installed in the unit, providing years of recording under proper recording parameters. 3rd generation digital surveillance technology utilizing a proprietary OS, embedded web server, and TI DSPs bring together the most powerful network-based digital video recorder available.

Compression function:

• Support 16 channels video in. Each channel can be compressed independently in 25F/S (PAL) or 30F/S (NTSC), using H.264 algorithm.
• Both variable bit-rate and variable frame rate are supported.
• Support 16 channels audio in. Each channel can be compressed independently, using an OggVorbis audio standard. The output bit-rate is 16 kbps.
• The output video and audio streams are integrated to generate the synchronized H.264 stream. Video and audio coincide with each other from beginning to end when the stream is played back.
